Ice Fishing the Last Day of 2013

Littlewood Reservoir Last Day 2013
A few weeks ago Katlyn wanted to go ice fishing.  I called up my dad and asked if he was interested in going which he usually is.  We decided to go to Littlewood Reservoir which is to the North of his house and about a two and a half hour drive away.  We drove to his house on Monday night then left Tuesday morning, the last day of 2013.  We spent 4 or 5 hours there.  The closest town is called Carey, Idaho.  Once we got there we first tested the ice at the edge which was quite thin.  There were some convenient logs hanging out across the leading edge and so we took advantage of them.  Once we got out to the main ice we found it to be quite thick, about 13-15 inches.  I caught 3 fish, two of which were fairly good sized at about 15 and 17 inches.  Macey caught 4 fish and Katey and Quinn each caught one.  Katey and Quinn quit fishing after a little while because of all the creaking and groaning and cracking noises that the ice makes as it shifts throughout the day.
They got quite spooked but had fun playing on the shore.  Jeremy and Toby met us up there and they had quite a few bites out of their holes.  Jeremy caught 5 or 6 and Toby caught 3 or 4.  My dad unfortunately did not connect with any even though he had a few bites.

The first and biggest fish.

The second largest fish of all and the most colorful.  It was the second one I caught and is also the one I am holding up below.

The biggest and first fish caught that day.  That is my boot.  The fish was around 17 inches
