Alexandria and the Ghost Tour Day 2 Evening

After Mt. Vernon we got on the bus and headed to the town Alexandria.  Alexandria has a lot of history from war times and also has a lot of  ghost stories and haunted houses.  We got to eat our dinner at a little restaurant called King Street Blues.  As we got off the bus and started walking to the restaurant I saw a drug store and snuck in and bought some superglue for my tooth.  I would try to glue my tooth later on that night.

On the way to Alexandria, I saw Katy looking at herself in the reflection.  I wondered what she was thinking

The dinner was a little confusing as we had had to preorder it yesterday.  I believe there was a mixup in what was ordered as Katy got the thing she said was ordered but in actuality she had  checked something else.  I remember it being confusing and I'm not so sure I checked a hamburger but that is what I checked and that is what I got.

We had some time to kill while we waited for our tour.  We went down to the wharf and saw some neat boats among other things.

This street magician captivated everybody's attention so much that the tour guide had a hard time getting most of them away.

Greg our  tour guide, The man dressed in colonial attire was the one who took us on our tour.  Mr. Nelson on the right

The house on the right is haunted because a bride burned to death on her wedding day and her fiance' who tried to save her died as well.

Spooky story telling

This was a bed and breakfast where some guy fell off a balcony and broke his neck.  His ghost still haunts it

We ended up in this little cemetery.  The guide had encountered a ghost here.

Miles for Mary

Saturday the 14th of May, an event was held for my sister in law Mary, who was recently diagnosed with a severe form of cancer.  She has been undergoing chemo with grim chances of improvement.  The event was held in support of her and to help raise money.   There was a really good turnout of family and friends as well as a few people that were unknown to the family but signed up anyway.

We met at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls around 9:30 as the5k event was supposed to start at 10:00 am.  Others were there much before and spent a lot of time putting this together for which we owe our thanks.

There was also food and baskets to raffle.  Items were donated by family, friends and businesses and then raffled off to the lucky winner.  The race was first and the raffle afterward.  Quite a few people ran in the 5k as you can see in the photos.  The tall man in the superman outfit was first to cross the line and then everybody trickled in afterward.  The guy with the microphone would announce the person's name who crossed the finish line.

I haven't had much time to write and put up all the thoughts and captions I want to but I was told to put these pictures up anyway.  I will gradually update and possibly add a few photos as well.  If anybody would like to add some photos to the sequence of events that I do not have please let me know.

Quick update, Mary recently had good news in that her tumor is shrinking.
