Miles for Mary

Saturday the 14th of May, an event was held for my sister in law Mary, who was recently diagnosed with a severe form of cancer.  She has been undergoing chemo with grim chances of improvement.  The event was held in support of her and to help raise money.   There was a really good turnout of family and friends as well as a few people that were unknown to the family but signed up anyway.

We met at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls around 9:30 as the5k event was supposed to start at 10:00 am.  Others were there much before and spent a lot of time putting this together for which we owe our thanks.

There was also food and baskets to raffle.  Items were donated by family, friends and businesses and then raffled off to the lucky winner.  The race was first and the raffle afterward.  Quite a few people ran in the 5k as you can see in the photos.  The tall man in the superman outfit was first to cross the line and then everybody trickled in afterward.  The guy with the microphone would announce the person's name who crossed the finish line.

I haven't had much time to write and put up all the thoughts and captions I want to but I was told to put these pictures up anyway.  I will gradually update and possibly add a few photos as well.  If anybody would like to add some photos to the sequence of events that I do not have please let me know.

Quick update, Mary recently had good news in that her tumor is shrinking.
